There’s this juicy new biography coming out soon, “Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell” and from what little nuggets of text that have leaked early, we’ve learned a lot about the smarmy UK Idol and X-Factor judge.

In one excerpt from the book, Cowell says he considered sleeping with Paula Abdul but didn’t want to because he didn’t want to make pillow talk with her!

“We would have to have a conversation afterwards, and I don’t know what we would have said.
Happy now, Simon Cowell? After being fired from the ‘X-Factor’, Paula Abdul had to first pay some woman suing her a million bucks, and now she’s giving up her nearly two million dollar Sherman Oaks home, probably to go live in some Hollywood studio quadplex that doesn’t even have a dishwasher.

Okay, the last part is probably not going to happen. But damn, it does kind of seem like Paula’s strapped for cash. In December, she had an estate sale, selling shoes, accessories, clothes and memorabilia.

Who needs to play the lottery when you can get paid for falling down?

If Paula Abdul wasn’t already having a crappy year, she’s now having to pay nearly a million dollars in damages to a woman who fell over on her driveway.

The woman, Jill Kohl, alleges she fell over in the grounds of Paula’s Los Angeles home during the taping of the singer's reality show, ‘Hey Paula.’ Kohl sued Abdul and the company who made the show. Jill’s lawyer
Simon Cowell must be softening up. Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, and host Steve Jones have all been dropped from the 'X-Factor' after only the first season, and Simon is admitting that his bragging might have gotten this show to the point it's at.

"It's only because I opened my big mouth and said we were going to get 20 million [viewers]. If I hadn't said that, everybody would be saying the show was a huge success."

You, Simon? A big mouth? Get out.
Now that Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and host Steve Jones have all been fired from The X Factor it has sent tongues wagging over who will replace them on the singing show. The replacements have to be music A-List, I mean, there’s a reason Paula, Nicole and Steve were fired, you guys.

Rumor has it that Mariah Carey, Katy Perry and even Nicki Minaj are in talks to join the judging panel of the X Factor.
Great, now who’s going to make Nicole Scherzinger squash little kids’ dreams? Oh right, Nicole’s off the show, too.

Simon Cowell must have had a really bad day on the ‘X-Factor’, because from the looks of it, he went storming around the set, saying ‘You’re fired!’ to everyone who crossed his path.

Reports surfaced this morning that Paula Abdul was out, and she responded to them in a statement.

“Yes, it’s true; I won’t be returning to The X-Factor next season.”
This morning we reported that Steve Jones had been fired as host from The X Factor, now we’re finding out that Simon Cowell is firing everyone left and right, cutting both Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul!

With Abdul and Scherzinger gone all we’ve got left is Simon and LA Reid, aka just a couple of suits talking about which singer was or wasn’t “pitchy”. I liked it better with Abdul and Scherzinger because every week was a giant cry-fest and xanax party.
I wish they would, and just get it over with. This has been the longest foreplay ever.

After nine years of working next to each other, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul were almost working on top of each other.

"I mean, the truth was, on the first two seasons, we couldn't travel on the same plane together. We really disliked each other that much," Cowell told Barbara Walters, in her Most Fascinating People interview. Simon said that he and Abdul butted heads due to "sexual tension…on her part."
Which means several seasons from now, they'll be creepily kiss each other on the red carpet.

Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole replacement, Nicole Scherzinger, have been bickering on the judges’ panel. I'm sure it’s just staged passive-aggressive awkwardness with the attempt to keep ratings high, but it's entertaining nonetheless.

20 year-old Ivana Steelman got onstage and belted out "Big Spender" in a cheesy, trying-too-hard to be sexy way. Simon called her out on it, saying, "You remind me of Nicole. I think this is exactly what I would have seen with Nicole if she'd have been 20, auditioning for this show for the first time."
X-Factor, better known as the "other American Idol show", will have its premiere Wednesday night on Fox. Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell will rekindle their weird friendship, and L.A. Reid will judge alongside ex Pussycat Doll, Nicole Sherzinger.

So in a nutshell, the show mentors some people who want to be famous, and then whoever wins gets a bunch of money and a recording contract with Syco/Sony Music. How is this different from Idol? Well, the prize is $5 million—five times as much as the American Idol prize. Oh, okay. I get it now.

Abdul says the performances are "Grammy-caliber." Does that mean someone's going to be rapping while half the song is bleeped out by censors? Or is someone going to announce their pregnancy during a performance?
