Paul Walker, star of The Fast and the Furious, has passed away.

The actor and a friend were in a Porsche GT just north of Los Angeles in Santa Clarita when they got into a fiery car accident and died on the spot.

According to photos, it seems like the driver was driving on side streets and no other cars were involved. Police believe speed was a big factor in the accident.

It appears as if the driver lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a tree. The car burst into flames and both Paul and the driver were announced dead on location.

In the video below you can hear a female on the phone with what sounds like 911 emergency saying the car is spilt in two but there are bodies inside.

LASD confirmed the deaths to Hollyscoop telling us, "Patrol deputies from Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a traffic collision at approximately 3:30PM in the 28300 block of Rye Canyon Loop, Valencia, on Saturday, November 30, 2013. When they arrived, deputies found the vehicle engulfed in flames. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded, extinguished the fire and subsequently located two victims inside the vehicle. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene."

Sadly, Paul was leaving a car show to raise money for the Philippines typhoon victims when he got into the accident.

His family released a heartfelt statement about the loss of the actor on his Facebook page. It read:
