The late Paul Walker’s film, Fast & Furious 6, was one of the top-grossing films of the year internationally, pulling in a grand total of $789 million at the box office.
Those numbers catapulted the actor onto Forbes’ annual money-tallying list of top-earning celebs where he landed at sixth place, alongside his co-stars Vin Diesel at fourth place and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at number one.
Most assumed that Robert Downey Jr. with Iron Man 3, the year’s highest-grossing movie with $1.2 billion, made him a shoo-in for the top honor, but a combination of The Rock’s other pictures this year, such as G.I. Joe: Retaliation, put him just a million above RDJ.
When Paul died, he was filming the seventh installment of the highly popular Fast & Furious franchise. According to reports, Universal isn’t scrapping the picture, instead opting to appropriately work the script around the actor’s death, meaning you shouldn’t be surprised if you see Paul on this list again next year as a posthumous candidate.
