Patrick Swayze's The Beast Cancelled?

There’s a rumor going around today that Patrick Swayze’s A&E show The Beast has been cancelled. Way to kick the guy while he’s down!

The network has yet to make an official statement, but Variety reports that show sources say it’s been canned.

The sources blame low ratings for the decision. Swayze was also in the hospital with pneumonia at the time when he was scheduled to be at the Television Critics Association Panel.

There was talk a couple of months ago that a new lead character would be introduced in the event Patrick became too ill.

But a rep for A&E insists that the news is not set in stone. They told E! this morning, "This is not accurate. We have not made a decision yet."
