Patrick Swayze's Rep Confirms Cancer

This is just about the saddest thing we've heard all year! Earlier today we told you about Patrick Swayze's terminal illness and how he only has a few weeks to live.

Swayze's publicist has just confirmed that the actor is suffering from pancreatic cancer. He was only diagnosed a month ago, but the cancer had already spread.

"The average life expectancy is six to nine months, with only 4 percent of patients living more than five years," reports PageSix.com.

Update: Patrick's rep has released a statement regarding Patrick's illness. "Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick's physician Dr. George Fisher states, 'Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.' Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family."

We’re really at a loss for words, but our prayers are with him and his family right now.

My Dearest Patrick; I am sorry to hear about your illness. Just keep the faith. God is there for you all the time. My father Tom was just told that he has a rare Melanoma Cancer in his throat area and it has spread to other areas. It is stage 4. It has been a shock for us. My parents now are living with my husband and myself. And I take care of his feedings and meds through is G-Tube. And we have Hospice come out too. This is the time to pay them back I say. They took care of us 6 kids and I am the baby girl of them all. And my mother is trying to stay strong for him at this time. They share a room together and this time is precious to them both . And myself I should say. We pray and we believe that God has a purpose for us all. God is not finished with you Patrick. Live each day by God, he blesses you and your family all the time. Also I know your a horse person, so am I . I get peace from them. But, I had to give it up for my family comes first. Go out and keep visiting the horses. They help you believe me. I miss it so much. I met Patrick at a recording studio in L.A. last year. By far the nicest celeb I have run in to. He was wanting to start work on Point Break 2. I hope he recovers because I would sure love to see him play that character again. And of course many more. I hope the recovery is quick.
