Doctors: Patrick Swayze Doing Well

Bad news: Patrick Swayze still has cancer. Good news: He's not dying anytime soon. Swayze's doctor talked to People magazine about his patient’s diagnosis and treatments. Here's what he had to say:

"Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far," Dr. George Fisher says in a statement. "All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic."

The actor's rep adds: "Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family."

Leave it to the National Enquirer to claim he only has a few weeks to live. We wish Patrick and his family the best during this difficult time--stay optimist!!

Unfortunately though the rate of survival on pancreatic cancer past five years from diagnosis is extemely small. I'm experiencing pancreatic cancer up close with my next door neighbor. She's only 53 and has had it for one year now. She's very sick. Has lost about 80lbs over the last year. She has to have chemo every week for as long as she does live. She can't do anything anymore. My roommate and I clean her house for her every week. It's a rough cancer. I sure pray for Patrick and pray he is one of the small percentage that survive past five years.

So you ran this story twice with the exact same quotes? How about you just realize that it's a slow news day for you and not post anything at all? A different picture really doesn't fool anyone.

my mom had a friend that had cancer and died. She said she had 60 more days to live but she died before her 60 days were up.So I wish patrick swayze and his family alot of luck because the doctor might be wrong and patrick could die at anytime.

To the negative types here, why in God's name would you post depressing stories about people you know with cancer? What good will that do for Patrick Swayze or for anyone with cancer? You're cruel, thoughtless, and probably sadistic. For Patrick: Both of my sisters and I have all had serious forms of cancer. We're all fine now! Mine was ovarian, one sister's was a rare, aggressive form of uterine, and the other sister's was colon. I repeat: we're all fine! My ovarian cancer was back in 1982. Sister with colon cancer had it eight years ago. Other sister had her cancer two years ago, but current tests are clean. We're ages 60, 59, and 58 now. In addition, we have a friend who had very advanced, aggressive skin cancer many years ago (it even traveled to his lung) and he has completely beat it. He had been told to "put his affairs in order." No need to do that, it turned out! He'll be happy to talk with you about how he handled his life, the cancer, and his diet, if you want to. My e-mail is tofuyum@yahoo.com and I can get you in touch with him. (I'm not writing his info here because I haven't asked his permission for it to be online.) Modern drugs and other therapies work wonders. You can make it and I'm praying that you do!!! So are probably millions of others. We love you, Patrick! Also praying for your lovely wife and all of your family and friends as they go through this with you. Barbara of NJ

I also have a brother that had a rare form of cancer, it is like leukemia, but it is rare, and he is now in total remission. I have had members of my family and friends with skin cancer, breast cance, colon cancer, and lots of other cancers, and they are survivors. So just because a person gets cancer, it doesn't mean for you to sign their death certificate!! Patrick, I have you in my prayers, and I know that God will help you, if you only have the faith that He will heal you. I love your movies, get back to them as soon as possible, my friend, but take the time to heal. God bless, Love to you and yours, Juanita of Nevada hugs and kisses

I agree with staying posative here. It sounds like he is responding well and has a huge support system out there. Just remember negative thoughts breed negative results. Posative thoughts breed posative results! I myself know lot's of people who have had cancer and survived. Those are the one's we should focus on!
