What Advice Did Aunt Janet Jackson Give Paris Jackson?

Really, we have Lindsay Lohan to thank for getting to know Paris Jackson. After Lohan bailed on her Ellen DeGeneres Show interview, Paris filled in, letting us get a glimpse of the girl behind the mask.

Now, Paris’ aunt, Janet Jackson, is giving her input on growing up in the limelight.

"I'm happy for her," Jackson told ABC News anchor Juju Chang.

So what’s her advice to Paris?

"I told her, I said, 'you should really take your time to enjoy your youth to the upmost, to the fullest, and enjoy that.'"

That and, if you’re going to perform with Justin Timberlake, wear a turtleneck.

Janet continued, “I mean, you lose so much of your childhood in this industry."

Aunt Janet knows what she’s talking about. Remember Good Times? Temporary Layoffs! Yeah, that Good Times. Janet starred in that show as a young girl. Anyway, read this quote about childhood pressures while I try to find a good place to put in a Dy-No-Mite! reference.

"I was 10 when I did 'Good Times,'" Jackson recalled. "I remember them asking me, my first show, the wardrobe woman said, 'we are going to bind your chest.' I was developing at a very young age. Then the following season they told me I need to lose weight."

So it looks like the pressure to be perfect isn't anything new in Hollywood.

But back to Paris. Janet says that the middle Jackson child is all ready for her acting career. Paris is all set to appear in a movie titled Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys.

“She wants to really give it a go,” Janet said.
