Barbara Walters is a family friend of the Hilton’s and had the opportunity to interview Paris Hilton when she got out of prison on Tuesday.
She kindly declined the offer dubbing the idea "tawdry".
She tells PageSix, "Tawdry. The whole thing somehow was beneath me. Besides, it was a no-win. If I did a tough piece and her tears started to flow, it would be, 'Oh, there's Barbara Walters making people cry again.' Too soft, and I'd be criticized."
Instead, Hilton’s first live interview following her release from prison on Tuesday will be with Larry King.
In more Hilton news, Paris’ mother visited her daughter in prison over the weekend. She mentioned a couple of things Paris is looking forward to upon her release from prison: Eating, seeing her family and friends and taking that darn orange jumpsuit off. “She wants to be with the family and she can't wait to take that orange suit off," said their family spokesperson.
Although orange is an “in” color for summer, Paris has just decided it’s “out.”
