Paris To Do Jail Time - Paris Hilton

It looks like Paris Hilton will spend her summer vacation in the slammer. The judge in the Paris Hiton case just reportedly ordered the heiress to serve 45 days in jail beginning June 5.

Shortly after the Judge sentenced Paris to 45 days, her attorney Howard Weitzman said he would appeal. "I'm shocked, I'm surprised and really disheartened in the system that I've worked in for close to 40 years," Weitzman said. He also said, "uncalled for, inappropriate and bordered on the ludicrous. I think she's singled out because of who she is."

Paris will serve her 45 day sentence at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood,Calif.

Paris had recently revealed to our Hollyscoop correspondent that she was excited to spend her summer in the Bahamas and St. Tropez. I guess those plans fell through.

I just wanted to say that I'm sick of these hollywood kids thinking they should get a slap on the wrist for their bad judgements. I it was someone that was not in the spot light we would be going to jail. She should go to jail like the rest of us and do her time. She srewed up and needs to deal with it. the only way california governor will issue a pardon will be a likely result of kathy hilton promising pac money during his next campaign, which if he does accept, will in turn result in a loss of votes. I think the majority of americans see the idiocy of this whole situation and if california governor seriously pardons her, he will definitely have lost many of the respectable voters. I know I wouldnt vote for a governor who pardons a criminal in exchange for campaign money. What a joke.

In response to carl's comment about nobody going to jail unless they commit acts of violence: are you serious?? Are you condoning white collar crime such as the acts of Enron and Tyco? Just because a crime isn't violent doesn't justify it. What about identity theft that ruins the lives of millions of americans every day? Do those criminals not deserve to go to jail? What about drug dealers who pollute our society with illicit drugs? What about theives who steal from innocent people? By saying that these criminals dont deserve jail is THE SAME AS SAYING THAT THE VICTIMS DONT DESERVE JUSTICE! Paris Hilton drove under the influence of alcohol. What if she killed someone while doing that? Drunk drivers kill innocent people every day. By violating her probation surely illuminates her contempt of law and her willingness to continue to drink and drive. Drinking and driving is a crime and definitely should be punished, especially if the perpetrator continues to ignore the law. By suggesting that she does not deserve jail time only condones her actions. Just imagine if it was your little girl, CARL, that was killed by a drunk driver: does the drunk driver not deserve to be charged with manslaughter and go to jail. I think you all who are trying to justify Paris's actions need to re-evaluate the situation. $$ does NOT buy you immunity before the law, NOR should it ever. driving under the influence is a crime and BY ALL MEANS that makes her a criminal. She has no regard for the law or does she have any regard for the people she is endangering by doing so. Arrives late for court: ignores the terms of her probation. Which a copy of was found signed by her in her glove box. Give me a break. She deserves a "reality check". From latimes.com site: "Until late last year, overcrowded jail facilities in the county had led Sheriff Lee Baca to release most inmates early, including immediately processing out anyone sentenced to less than 90 days in jail. That is no longer true, and Baca's spokesman, Steve Whitmore, said Friday that his understanding of the judge's order meant Hilton was likely to serve the full 45 days." Yeah, here in Texas, she would have been TAKEN from the courtroom directly to jail. I don't think you can appeal a case that was not heard in front of a jury. How many people are sitting in jail, "waiting for their appeal" to go through? If it can be appealed, I suspect the judge made an example of her, knowing that in the next 30 days, her attorney will be able to reduce the sentance.

I envision the Hilton's shocked and dismayed lawyers rushed off to secretly meet in a private room in an abandoned warehouse district to laugh with glee, party and watch er.. 'cough' films, play the sour-note music of Paris.. while heckling her efforts, yelling.. "HEY You, I want your autograph..! Anyone one of use would have to serve time for parole violation. Hell, Martha Stewart served time. Paris is not above the law. She knew she was driving around with a bad license.
