Paris Hilton just can't catch a break this week. First she was arrested on cocaine charges in Vegas, then she was caught lying about the purse not being hers during the bust, and now she may need to cough up $160K to filmmakers because of a movie flop.
Paris has been battling producers from Worldwide Entertainment Group Inc. for years after failing to "adequately promote" the 2006 comedy National Lampoon's Pledge This!
She was told she was at fault for the movie's failure and she may have to pay some damages to the project's investors. Ouch!
U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno ruled in Miami, Florida on Thursday that Paris breached her contract when she refused interviews with publications in Russia and the United Kingdom.
The judge said Paris could be liable for a payout to producers Worldwide Entertainment Group Inc. after valuing the lost promotional opportunities at around $160,000, though he will not finalize the amount until seeing further information on the terms of her contract.
They originally wanted $8.3 million from her, which is just ridiculous, so $160K isn't so bad in comparison.
This is the last thing Paris needs right now. She's already facing up to four years in jail for her recent cocaine scandal. We actually feel bad for her. When it rains, it pours!
