Paris Is Sue Happy - Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton might be low on cash or she just loves to sue because she has filed a federal lawsuit against Hallmark.

She has sued the company because of a $2.49 Hallmark greeting card that uses a photo of the Hilton with her infamous phrase, "That's Hot."

The reason for the lawsuit? “Hallmark has, among other transgressions, misappropriated her image and invaded her privacy with the card.”

She is looking to collect about $50,000 dollars in damages. Wow, Paris Hilton’s lawyers have too much time on their hands. I would just let the damn card be, its really not such a big deal.

It doesn't matter to her if she sues, she pays people to do all this for her. She just gives the okay when this is recommended as she can't think for herself. Do you really think she even saw the card before it was brought to her attention? Not a chance. She lives in her own little world of PARIS.

Do you know how ridiculious this sounds? So no one is allowed to use the phrase "That's Hot". So let me ask you if someone tell's someone to "Be careful THAT'S HOT" should she sue them to? because if that's is the case she should sue McDonald's because they been having her "catch phrase" printed on their coffee cups for years, and she should sue every mother in the country because they always use her phrase. LOL

If someone used Hallmark material, you can bet Hallmark would be all over them in a minute. Copyright infringement IS a big deal and I hope Paris gets beaucoup bucks. I'm also happy to see that Paris is finally starting to sue some people.

It has to be trade marked by her otherwise they are entitled to use the phrase, because she does not own it. They might however have to lose her graphic from the card. BOO HOO.

Paris has every right to sue since she is copy-righted and trademarked. It's the principle of the case,not necessarily the money. Paris Hilton has the same rights under the law as any other celebrity and should fight any infringement of her rights. Moreover, her lawyers should also start going after the people who spread lies about her on the web. Justin Timberlake had to do the same thing.

One lawsuit does not mean she's "sue-happy," and I feel that if any of us could afford the legal fees and were in that position, we would do the same thing. I think a lot of people give her a difficult time for her past transgressions, and it strikes me as unfair because she seems like she's very sheltered, in a way. I doubt that she could handle doing half of the jobs that "regular" people have to do, even something as simple as running a cash register and dealing with customers. I wish everyone would think about how they would feel if they were constantly ridiculed, the way they ridicule her. She's every bit as human as the rest of us, and does have feelings that can be hurt.

Paris certainly has the right to sue Hallmark for unauthorized use of her image. I don't think the "that's hot" slogan would be an issue since I doubt she's had it trademarked or copyrighted. Hallmark tried using unauthorized images from another card company years ago and Hallmark lost.They would either have to pay Paris or just drop the cards images.
