Paris Donates Big - Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton definitely has a soft side, and it showed when she made an "extremely generous" donation towards the construction of a children's hospital in Los Angeles.

Paris had vowed to help "to help raise money for kids and for breast cancer and multiple sclerosis" after her 23 day jail stint last year, and it looks like she's actually keeping her promise.

The money donated by Hilton will go towards a Children's Centre for Cancer and Blood Diseases and will open in 2010. Kudos to Paris for keeping her word!

If we criticize donors for lifestyles or a few youthful slip ups,no one will be left. The fact is that middleclass people donate more than rich people, and it's great when a celeb makes a generous donation and encourages others to do the same. My husband and I give 10% of our gross annual income to causes, such as Doctors Without Borders etc. so I have some idea what I'm talking about. We should not minimize what Paris is doing. My hope is that she will continue along that route.

Paris did a very nice thing and SHOULD get more recognition. If she says nothing, people complain she that she does nothing when, in fact, she has done quite a bit over the last year.

The Children's hospital announced the donation in hopes of getting more people to donate. Paris also lent her name to the hospital's fundraising.

Why does Paris feel the need to make people aware of her "generous" donation. Another 'look at me tactic'. Anyone as rich as she is can never be too generous. I make $30,000/year, owe $92,000. I do volunteer work in my community and I give to charity. I'd have to say that's more generous than her efforts. She's a loser. Soon Paris will give out the statement "we're still the best of friends and have the highest regard for each other. But we've decided to go our separate ways." She's such a slutty loser!
