Paris Hilton is making a contribution to saving the environment. The heiress just changed all of the light bulbs in her house to energy-saving ones, and is even buying a hybrid car!

Hilton said she turns off the lights, doesn't leave the TV on or the water running when she leaves her house. The water running? Really? Now, if we can only get her to turn off the oven and the blender, we'll be in business!

And look at today's Paris story - she's flown to Europe for partying. Yep, real green. And BTW, she's buying a hybrid but is she getting rid of her gas-guzzler(s) or just adding the hybrid to her fleet? I can guess the answer to that question.

i was gonna say the above, she wastes so much energy jet setting around with like 10 pieces of luggage - is that really necessary! well at least she's taking baby steps... there is hope!!

None of this is nearly enough to make up for the jetsetting and the years of traveling around LA and NYC in SUVs. I'm from a family of seven kids and I'll bet I and all my siblings combined have left a smaller carbon footprint than her. Nice start, I guess, but she's got a long way to go.
