Paris Hilton went to court today in Las Vegas and admitted drug possession and obstructing an officer. The good news for her is that she avoided jail time because she pleaded guilty to those two charges.
Her punishment? The Judge placed her on 12 months of probation and if she gets arrested again she will head to the slammer for a year.
Justice of the Peace Joe Bonaventure told Hilton: "It is not the Waldorf-Astoria." He then added: "The purpose here is to change your conduct."
Aside from being placed on probation, Paris must complete a substance-abuse program, complete 200 hours of community service and pay a $2,000 fine.
Her lawyer David Chesnoff spoke to reporters after the hearing saying: "She was treated like anyone else would be treated under the circumstances, and I'm very proud of the way she's dealt with this. I think she's on the road to success and I wish her personally the best."
Do you guys think Paris will actually clean up her act? Maybe Lilo and Paris can go to AA classes together.
