Paris Hilton's grandfather Barron Hilton wasn't kidding a few months back when he said he was going to donate a large sum of money to charity instead of handing it down to his scandalous grandchildren.
Barron Hilton announced today that he would donate 97% of his $2.3 BILLION dollar fortune to charity. The money will be placed in a trust fund that will eventually benefit the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, raising its total value to about $4.5 billion, the foundation said in a statement. That's a lot of cheddar yo!!
Rumor has it that Barron, who is still an old fashioned guy, is embarrassed by his grandchildren's behavior. I guess he isn't into home made sex tapes.
The foundation supports projects that provide clean water in Africa, education for blind children and housing for the mentally ill. Based on Conrad Hilton's will, are "to relieve the suffering, the distressed and the destitute."
Kudos to Barron, at least one of the Hiltons is thinking about charity. Didn't Paris promise to turn a new leaf when she left jail? What happened to her 'trip to Africa' and all the charities she said she was going to support?
