Ozzy Osbourne: Doctors Told Me I Had AIDS

=Talk about the worst possible health scare! Ozzy Osbourne was left devastated when doctors told him he was HIV positive, only to retract their diagnosis later.

Ozzy abused drugs for so many years, his immune system took a huge hit (no pun intended), and he was wrongly diagnosed.

Ozzy explained in an interview with Glamour magazine: “I went to the doctor and had an AIDS test and he told me it was positive. That was one of the worst days of my life.

“When I used to get f***ing loaded I would get myself into all kinds of situations. It turns out that because I was drinking and using drugs so much, my immune system had dropped so that it was a borderline result."

Luckily when he went back to get further tests they told him he wasn't HIV positive. "When I went back to be tested again it was negative,” he adds.

What a scary situation to be in! Glad to hear his diagnosis wasn't accurate!

That's like getting a new lease on life! We need to fight the war on drugs from two angles. First off, we need to realize that drug abuse is a symptom instead of the main disease and do things to fight the disease--which has to do with showing kids better alternatives to finding happiness than dazzling their minds with recreational drugs. This needs to be done in a number of creative, nonjudgmental ways. As for those who are already addicted, we need to try to encourage them to kick the habit--but we also need to acknowledge that (1) They have the habit and (2) Might not be either physically or emotionally ready to give it up, so we need to provide safe ways for them to survive such as providing clean needles. Kindness and not prison, shaming, etc. is the way to go to win this war.
