Oprah's Reasoning: It's Time to Say Goodbye

News broke yesterday that Oprah Winfrey was planning on ending her daytime television run in 2011, leaving may women in America very sad.

But in true Oprah style, she explained to her faithful followers exactly why she was making the tough decision. She made the official announcement on her show today, saying, "After much prayer and careful thought, I decided that next season, season 25 will be the last season. I love this show. … This show has been my life and I love it enough to know when it's time to say goodbye."

"These years with you, our viewers, have enriched my life beyond all measure," she said. "We've grown together. You've raised your families, had your children. And left a spot for me in the mornings or the afternoons. … I want you all to know my relationship with you is one that I hold very dear."

It’s hard to imagine she’s moving on after over 20 years! We’re happy to know Oprah won’t be leaving television altogether however. She will be focusing on her own cable channel, OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, a joint venture with Discovery.
