Oprah Winfrey doesn't need a poll to to remind her of her popularity! But she's topped the list of the most popular TV star of the year.
Clint Eastwood has edged out the competition for favorite movie star.
The polls were conducted by a company called Harris Interactive, and Oprah moved up this year from the number four spot. Coming in second is Glenn Beck, host of the FOX News political show “The Glenn Beck Program.” It was the first time Beck has cracked the Harris poll’s top 10 since the organization began conducting the survey in 1993.
Falling from the top spot on last year’s TV poll was Jay Leno, who finished third in the new survey. Surprisingly however, the poll was conducted prior to Leno’s recent drama with NBC.
Johnny Depp fell second to Eastwood (who was second last year) in the movie poll, with Denzel Washington (who was #1 the previous three years), Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks rounding out the top five for film.
Ellen DeGeneres and Hugh Laurie tied for fourth place on the list. The other stars making the TV top 10 included Jon Stewart, Charlie Sheen, and David Letterman.
On the movie side, George Clooney, John Wayne, Meryl Streep, Morgan Freeman and Julia Roberts rounded out the back half of the top 10, respectively.
