Oprah Turns Vegan

Oprah
Talk show queen Oprah is giving up meat and diary from her diet in a bid to cleanse out her body.

Oprah says she is going to be a vegan for 21 days not only to cleanse her body, but she's also hoping to make it a new trend.

She says, "How can you say you're trying to spiritually evolve without even a thought about what happens to the animal's whose lives are sacrificed in the name of gluttony?"

Hey, if anyone can make veganism a trend, it’s Oprah! This woman can sell ice to Eskimos.

Those animals weren't sacrificed for gluttony. They were sacrificed for entrees, you sanctimonious bitch!

Yes, I suppose that trend might take over if everyone had someone to do all of their grocery shopping and cooking for them!

when i went vegan 2 years ago i wasn't sure what i was going to eat, but it has been waaaaay better than i thought it would be. almost everything i had when i was eating meat i am still eating, but without the animal products (cheesesteaks from govindas in philadephia, bacon cheeseburger from foodswings in brooklyn, nyc, chicken parm from greenlight in trenton, nj. since going vegan i haven't had one cold or flu, and am much more relaxed than before

It isn't sacrifice, it's slavery. And greed. And ignorance. It isn't about being thin, either, gevo. Soda and potato chips are vegan but certainly not healthy. Obesity and poor health are epidemic - almost exclusively among people who eat a so-called "normal" diet. I'd say samiam might have a point if Oprah had decided to go raw. Raw is definitely tricky; so much so that after researching it, we realize we're going to have to ease into it. But vegetarian cooking takes no more know-how. And what to shop for? Try going to the produce section for a start. It will look strange, but real food, nature's bounty, doesn't come boxed and canned and otherwise packaged with an ingredient list you need Cliff notes on to understand. It's human nature to resist what they don't understand. So perhaps people should look into vegetarianism - just a little bit - instead of making assumptions and hateful comments about a way of life that celebrates nature and nurtures compassion. How - really, now - how can that be a bad thing?

BTW, I did NOT put those links into my comment. I'm offended this website should add those arbitrarily and thereby imply my approval or association with their advertising.
