Oprah Gets Sued

Oprah is being sued by the former headmistress of her South African school. Nomvuto Mzamane, who was in charge of heading up the South African Leadership Academy for Girls, filed a lawsuit Friday in Philadelphia against Oprah.

The civil suit claims Winfrey "launched what amounted to a defamatory campaign" against Mzamane late last year by implying that Mzamane is "untrustworthy, failed the students of the academy, did not care about the students at the academy, knew of alleged physical and sexual abuse at the academy and participated in a cover-up of the alleged abuse."

The suit cites comments that Oprah allegedly made in October and November after a dorm matron at the school was charged with assaulting and abusing six students.

Mzamane says she’s suing to protect her reputation. Bad idea. You don’t mess with Oprah. How did this woman not get the memo? If you’re not on Oprah’s side, you’re not on anyone’s side. She would have been better off just changing her name. Not like we can pronounce it anyway!
