Oprah Donates Big to Low-Income School

Oprah may not have had a big “Favorite Things” episode this year, but she’s making up for it in more ways than one, by giving to people who really need it.

Oprah has just donated $365,000 to the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta to help out their 80 low-income students.

Principal Ron Clark set up the school from royalties from his best-selling book The Essential 55, and relies on donations to keep the academy open. And he is stunned by Winfrey’s generosity.

He says, "We teach school all day and fundraise at night. To have an unsolicited gift come like that is incredible."

Oprah told Clark in her letter to the school that she appreciated the "profound difference you’re making with your passion for teaching."

Teachers at the school often incorporate rapping, drums, and dance to encourage their students to learn in a fun environment. Well, it’s definitely working! Ron Clark’s voting version of T.I.’s “However You Like” was amazing! If you haven’t seen the video, check it out below...
