Forbes is at it again. Counting celebrity cash like it’s their job.
Forbes rounded up it’s annual “Hollywood’s Highest-Paid Women” and surprisingly Oprah is still on top.
Even with her struggling OWN network and the fact that her show has been off the air for over a year, she still raked in $165 million between May 2011 and May 2012. Damn, she must be selling A LOT of magazine subscriptions.
However, Forbes predicts this might be her last year on the annual money maker list, but her net worth of $2.7 billion will keep her on the Forbes 400 list for a long time.
Despite Forbes predictions that Oprah’s yearly income is slowing down, the next highest earner of last year is Britney Spears who brought it about 1/3 of what Oprah makes yearly at $58.
I don’t know what’s more surprising, that Britney still makes more money than everyone else, or that Oprah STILL made that much more money than Britney?
Taylor Swift and Rihanna both earned in the top 5, with $75 million and $53 million respectively because they are both never NOT on tour and for a recording artist, tours and NOT album sales is where the money is at. Also, endorsement deals and fragrances, which Tay and RiRi both do.
Ellen Degeneres landed between the two pop stars with $53 million thanks to her super successful daytime talk show.
