Apparently One Direction has signed their life away in order to become five of the most famous young adults in the world. It’s basically a gang mentality for the UK boy band, who just signed a new contract that says (no, threatens) that if one guy quits, no one gets paid.
The boys just signed a three-year agreement that says if any one of them drops out before the three-years is up, nobody will get their money.
Do you know how long three years is in boy band years? Three years was exactly the amount of time it took the Jonas Brothers to go from household name to has-been nerds. Boy bands can’t sustain themselves for that long and that’s not including the future movie careers/drug habits/imminent bankruptcies that will undoubtedly plague the boys in the next few years that might lead them to drop out of the group.
“The formal length is for 26 months and an album a year – but the clever part is they get the big pay day after the three years. If one of them walks away before then, then all five miss out on the money,” a source told The Sun.
Also, that big payday is reportedly millions of dollars.
The source called the contract “clever” and will force them to “stick together.”
Good luck, I already see Harry Styles eyeing Justin Bieber-like stardom and you know Niall Horan is going to want to get into acting. Zayn Malik? C’mon, that kid wants a fashion label bad and Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson? Ehh, I don’t know which one is which, so….
