You can go ahead and throw away the old Ken dolls that you’ve been dressing up as the British teens. Hasbro is making One Direction toys!
The toy manufacturing giant has announced that they will be creating a line of toys, action figures and games with the images of the 1D stars.
That’s right, you’re very own Niall, Zayn. Liam, Harry and Louis dolls. What more could a girl want in their closet? (Other than the real thing.)
In a statement to MarketWatch, John Frascotti, chief operating officer of Hasbro Inc, says, “We are excited about the opportunity to provide One Direction's very enthusiastic international fan base with a diverse product line that captures the essence of the band members.”
According to a representative of the band, 1D is excited for the partnership and the opportunity that Hasbro offers with the company’s proven track record of connecting with fans.
Along with looking like the stars, the toys will have mini prepster clothing to match the band’s style. No, we don’t know if the clothes are removable. You have to see for yourself when you buy the things. Don’t pretend like you’re not curious!
The product line will be available in Fall 2012 across the globe, except for in the band’s home countries Ireland and the UK, who apparently don’t want to bother with the rubbish.
1D got its start on the UK’s “X Factor” in 2010 and has since been blowing up in the United States. Their debut album Up All Night broke records as the first UK album to hit number one on US Billboard charts.
