PETA Sends Mixed Messages

Olsens

One minute, PETA is giving the Olsen twins a beat-down for wearing fur, and then they're giving coats away? But don't worry, they have a good excuse: "The only people who can be excused for wearing fur are the homeless—to keep warm during the winter." Oh thanks, guys. My flannel shirts and leg warmers circa 1994 aren't good enough? Who are they to be the bum fashion police anyway?

A PETA rep says they cover all the coats for the needy with A PETA patch to drastically bring down the value of the coat. Value? I thought they just said the coats were for charity! Get your story straight! A PETA fur is an oxymoron. Just like jumbo shrimp.

PETA are a bunch of loons that can't afford the luxurys that the Olsens and other rich people can so they feel the need to attack them. I think they should be in a mental hospital for half of these stunts that they pull off or at least have the shit sued out of them.

I would also like to add how come they go after the Olsens for wearing fur and putting it in their clothing line, but they did not attack Britney Spears for wearing a fur vest in her lastest music video? That some double standard bull shit as well.

I couldn't agree more La Chat! They also turned the cheek when Sharon Stone wore that nasty floor length fur coat recently

U R the oxymoron! What's wrong with using the fur for charity. It's not like they can prevent those animals from already being killed. De-value the coats that are out there and let them serve a higher purpose.

Hey Anon...What's the difference then if a person wants to wear a fur/leather coat and it's not for charity? Those animals were already skined to so those people can't do anything about that as well. It's not PETA'S place to say okay the poor and homless can wear a coat made of fur, but like anyone else is not allowed. That's ridiculous if you have the money and you choose fur/leather/suede as a coat that you want to wear then you should be allowed to do so. This is America and who is PETA to say what people can and can not own. Another thing PETA has to pay the fur industry to get those furs in the first place so they contribute to the industry as well. So in the long run what are they really trying to de-value?

Wow, I'm sensing the writer of this blog is a fur wearer and supporter of the process of breeding animals solely to be slaughtered so some dumb bitch can make a fashion statement. Fur wearers are ignorant, heartless, shallow bitches.

La Chat!!! what a twat!!! The coats they are giving away!!! Were already produced, hence putting them now, to good use. (keeping the homeless warm) And NO, you don't have the right to KILL!!! a terrified defenceless animal, so you can look like a prise twat! The only reason people like you wear fur, is to try and project an air of wealth....when in true fact it actually let's everyone know, your a retard. You need bitch slapping, then running over, with a 4x4, twice!

I agree with People who wear fur, suck ass!

I agree with La Chat. Whats the difference if I'm wearing the coat to stay warm or if a homeless guy is wearing it to stay warm? why does he deserve to stay warm and I'm a heartless bitch?

Their is no difference if someone who can actually afford the money to buy a $100.00+ coat, and they choose that to stay warm in the winter "it is not the person who buys the product that is a murder it is the fur industry itself" the customer was not the one who slaughtered those animals to make these coats and those animals are dead already as well so again what's the difference? Do you really think that the fur industry hands over a say $500.00 a coat for PETA to give away to the homeless? No PETA pays the fur industry as well maybe it's not as much but they have to pay for those products nothing is ever free and what that's not considered a contributing to the profits of this industry? So maybe it's not $500.00 it might be deducted to $250.00, but the fur industry still makes a profit and if PETA was really so concerned about animals then they can give away jackets that are not fur that will keep the homeless warm like active outwear. Like ski jackets that are not downed or anything. The truth is when it's convient for PETA they raise hell, but when it's not they turn the other cheek.

These wild animals are raised on fur farms !They are not dead already! They are not a bi product of anything! They live for a few years in a tiny cage were they cannot move in horrid filthy conditions. Next they are killed by (but not limited to) electrocution in their mouth or anus or both! beat, stomped, clubbed, kicked, starved and ususally only minks are gassed. This sick fettish humans have to wear furry dead animal skins have caused china to slaughter 2 million cats and dogs a year for fur. Then it is labeled as faux fur and then this is shipped to the US for us to wear- dogs on are collars! princess the cat on are boots and trimmings sweet huh? No I think not! In the end the animals are killed because humans want them they want to wear them. In the end its humans who wear the fur who have the animal killed! Because if humans did not wear it they would not be killed!

They chose MK and Ashley because they are role models for so many people in our society. The fur industry is dispicable... the dogs and foxes and other animals used for fur are raised in small wire cages so their extrements can fall through to the ground, kept in freezing conditions to stimulate thick winter coat growth, receive no medical attention, and go psychologically crazy exhibiting frantic stereotypic pacing beaviors in their 2X3 enclosures. When they are killed (commonly via anal electricution) they receive no pain relief, and are often still alive while their fur is ripped off them. These animal are raised and killed only because there is a demand for fur, which because people buy it. When fewer people that buy fur, less will be made, because it is not profitable to make fur that won't sell. PLEASE, have compassion for the millions of animals we lock up and neglect and kill for the sake of fashion. I hope that Mary kate and Ashley will choose to support compassion towards other living sentient animals, and as role models, send give that message to our society.

This story is missing a massive part of where the furs are from, people who give up fur because they realize it is wrong donate it to PETA, who then gives it to the homeless. PETA DOES NOT SPEND A PENNY ON FUR. Very biased article
