PETA Invades Sundance

Olsens

Everyone has migrated to Sundance, including the folks over at PETA. PETA is in Park City, Utah on a mission and Mary-Kate Olsen is their target.

There was a bad snowstorm last night and it's about 10 degrees right now, but PETA is still waging war on anyone who wears fur.

Protesters have lined up outside the Alaskan Fur Gallery waiting to track down celebs like Mary-Kate Olsen, Sharon Stone and Ben Kingsley.

I wonder if the people at PETA have a GPS system on Mary-Kate, they've been following her everywhere. Funny thing is about 80% of the locals are wearing full on fur coats and PETA hasn't bothered harassing them.

They don't have anything better to do, but to start some crap which is going to in turn burn them in the ass since they have such double standard thinking.

We don't need to wear fur, so we should stop supporting an industry that breeds animals and then kills a LARGE AMOUNT of these little critters just to make your ONE coat. Wool is a very warm alternative, without all the bloodshed.

That's your choice, but if I choose to wear fur or leather then that is my choice so don't judge me for my beliefs and I won't judge you for yours.

I also don't think it is right to wear fur but I do. I think that it is wrong but Peta shouldn't be so aggressive like that. Once they threw paint all over my friends mink coat. The way they approach the problem is not right!

Peta also is known to kill animals so they have quite a double standard. They aren't revealing their entire story to the public, if they did there would be a much huger backlash against PETA.

If you choose to wear fur, then you should make smart choices and buy from places that don't torture the animals. Most fur people just rip the animals' furs right off their body while they're STILL ALIVE! Then they toss them to the side in a pile of pink naked bodies, their little eyes still blinking with what remains of their eyelids, and living out their last minutes/hours in terror and suffering... Know where you buy fur from if you choose to wear it. There should be no excuse for torture.

hhhh...I agree their approach is not right, and your friend did not deserve to have paint thrown on her because of what she choose to wear. This is America and living here gives you the option to be allowed to have choices and If your friend had the money to buy a mink coat and she wanted to rock that it's her personal choice.

Jenn...If Peta really feels that it's not okay to wear fur then they should be going after the industries not the clients of the industry, and it's okay for them to give the coats to the homeless/poor and not to someone that can afford them that is a double standard no matter what their reasoning for it is. On top of that they still have to pay the fur industry money to get those coat cause hello their not for FREE!!! So the fur industry is still making money off of Peta.

Thank you Maxx05 I glad someone else can see that Peta has double standards when it comes to their beliefs.

Sorry for being such a pain, but I have just one more thing to say. If the Olsen Twins really gave a shit about this whole Peta problem they have enough money to make it vanish off the face of the earth and no one would be the wiser. The fact is I think this is the best publicity for them and that's why they haven't done a dame thing to fight it. All you hear is Peta being a bunch of bitches as usual.

I have to wonder though if it wouldn't be a better approach to arrange a forum to discuss this politely and professional as adults, without either side engaging in the stunts. Although the stunts seem to get it into the media spotlight, and therefore public attention, it's not the only option and as a society (including celebreties), I think we're capable of more adult approaches to reach the same outcomes.

For one thing, PETA had nothing to do with the demonstrations in Park City. These activists were not present because Mary Kate Olsen happened to be near by. This was merely coincidence. Furthermore, these Animal Rights activists were passing out literature/discussing the grotesque cruelties of the Fur Farming industry with everyone willing to open their minds and ears.

if we can wear the fur, then it's unnessary for britney to hook up a real man at the celebrity dating site LargeMingle com

Why did Stella McCartney give them her dresses? Isn't she an animalist like her mother was, too? Money talks...and fashion sucks, it's pure pornography, women should learn that!
