It feels like it was just yesterday when there were countdowns on the internet for when the Olsen twins would be of legal age. Yesterday
Mary-Kate and
Ashley Olsen turned 21. Unlike most of young Hollywood, instead of hitting the town, they opted for a low-key birthday.
The gazillionaire twins hosted a cozy dinner party at Hollywood's legendary Chateau Marmont, with guests included their sister Lizzie, 19, and brother Trent, 23.
"It looked like a family dinner," an onlooker tells
People, "You could tell they were all really close. The girls couldn't stop smiling."
Between velvet cupcakes and the endless flow of champagne, the girls appeared to really be enjoying themselves. Each guest took a turn raising a glass and saying a few words about the girls.
What did the sisters do before the party? As they wrote to fans on their Web site:
"Today, for the first time in a looooong time, we're taking a day off – doing absolutely nothing and looking forward to every second of it!"
