Mary-Kate Olsen has finally gotten herself an acting gig. Although the girl is a super rich mogul you can tell her heart has always been into acting. Mary-Kate will be co-starring on Showtime's dark comedy "Weeds."
"I'm thrilled to be a part of the show," Olsen said. "It's really an honor to be a part of such a talented group of actors and writers."
Olsen will play Tara who is a Christian girl living in a megachurch community Majestic who becomes a love interest for Nancy Botwin's (Mary-Louise Parker) son Silas (Hunter Parrish).
This is the first real role that Mary-Kate has had as an adult. 'Weeds' isn't your 8 o'clock family fare," series creator Jenji Kohan said. "It's an adult show with adult subject matter, and we're confident Mary-Kate is right for the role. She came in and read with Hunter and was absolutely charming and real and seemed like a great fit. Audiences have seen only one side of Mary-Kate, but here we'll see her in a whole new light."
See even famous people like Mary-Kate Olsen have to read for parts. It's a tough business so congrats Mary-Kate!
