The Help” is the little film that could. I don’t think anyone expected "The Help" to sweep the awards ceremony this year like it did, but this moving tale of maids in the deep south and one precocious writer bound to tell their story, has found a place in our hearts.

"The Help" is now nominated for Best Movie at the MTV Movie Awards this year. And, Bryce Dallas Howard is nominated for Best On-Screen Dirt Bag for her scathing turn as Hilly Holbrook.

'The Help' star Octavia Spencer won the first big award of the night…Best Supporting Actress. She was up against Melissa McCarthy ('Bridesmaids'), Jessica Chastain ('The Help'), Janet McTeer ('Albert Nobbs'), and Berenice Bejo ('The Artist').

"Thank you Academy, for putting me with the hottest guy in the room," Octavia joked as she was helped on stage.

Everyone's favorite narrator, Morgan Freeman, has opened up the 84th Annual Academy Awards. It would've been really funny if James Franco showed up again, but the show kicked off with a comedy bit from host Billy Crystal.

In a video montage, Crystal recreates a bunch of scenes movies that came out in the past year including, 'Bridesmaids,' 'The Help,' and 'Hugo.' It also included a kiss from George Clooney, a Jonah Hill cameo, and a meeting with Justin Bieber. Bieber pretends to know who Hemingway is. Probably thinks it's one of his backup dancers.

The only Oscar bet I made was the fact that Billy Crystal would say 'you look mahvalous!' within the first thirty seconds of his hosting. I lost. But he did remind us that it was his ninth time hosting the Oscars. And of course, a song and dance kicked off immediately.

"We're here at the beautiful Chapter 11 theater," Crystal said, referring to recent news of Kodak taking their name off of the theater to save $4 million a year. Woah, there, Billy. Getting kinda edgy! If the Academy wanted smarm, they would've gone with Ricky Gervais.

Do your boobs hang low? No seriously, if they do you would be a great candidate for a boob lift. Oscar nominee Octavia Spencer is doing it.

Octavia Spencer has been nabbing statues during all of awards season and says she's going to buy herself a boob lift after the Oscars as a sort of congratulations to herself.
When celebrities make a name for themselves at award season, they always end up wanting to lose a bunch of weight. Jennifer Hudson lost 80 pounds, Sandra Bullock lost an entire Jesse James….you get the idea.

Now, Octavia Spencer, Hollywood’s latest award season sweetheart, wants to shed some weight as well. Octavia took home a Screen Actor’s Guild Award for Supporting Actress last night, and after the show, Spencer dished about her figure:

"Tadashi [is] a designer that knows how to cut for women who aren't size two," Octavia said on the red carpet, regarding her gown designer.
The 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards were held on Sunday night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Stars like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney and more were all on hand to celebrate outstanding performances in Television and Movies.

It was ladies’ night at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards when the film 'The Help' swept the boards. 'The Help' and 'The Artist' dominated the awards show with Jean Dujardin and Viola Davis picking up best actor and actress awards.

'Mildred Pierce' and 'Boardwalk Empire' are still going strong as they both picked up major awards.

The complete list of recipients of the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards follows:

here are few things worth getting up at the crack of dawn for. Hearing your name during the Academy Award nominations is definitely one of those things.

This was an exciting morning for a handful of Hollywood A-listers. From Brad Pitt to Viola Davis to Jonah Hill, lots of stars had a damn good reason to break open a bottle of champagne before noon today. Here’s what our favorite Oscar-nominated stars had to say about their accomplishment:

Brad Pitt: "It's gonna be pancakes for everyone this morning!" the actor said when he phoned in to the Today show Tuesday morning.

Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. day, and Octavia Spencer reminded us of that in her winner’s speech during Sunday night’s Golden Globes.

After winning Best Supporting Actress for The Help, Spencer said:

“With regard to domestics in this country, now and then, I think Dr. King said it best: 'All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance.' And I thank you for recognizing that with our film.”
