Born Nicole Margaret Blonsky on November 9, 1988, in Great Neck, New York, Nikki started attending vocal training at an early age and building an acting resume with roles in several of her high school's productions, including Les Misérables and Sweeney Todd. According to Nikki, the then-aspiring actress always dreamed of being apart of the musical Hairspray ever since seeing the Broadway production at the age of 15. Nikki's aspiration eventually became reality when she landed the role of Tracy Turnblad in the film adaptation of Hairspray (2007).
