Last month, Nicollette Sheridan and Marc Cherry went to court because Sheridan claimed that Cherry assaulted her and then killed off her character on “Desperate Housewives”, which she called “wrongful termination.”

Anyways, the actual “Desperate Housewives” actresses haven’t spoken up much about the trial, but finally Eva Longoria has broken her silence!

“I was surprised that there was even a trial and it went that far,” Longoria told Katie Couric on Good Morning America
ABC bosses are reportedly in talks to offer Nicollette Sheridan a "peace package" so she can drop the $20 million dollar lawsuit she filed against Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry.

Bosses at ABC reportedly want to resolve the case before it heads to court, after Nicollette's lawyers said they intend to subpoena cast and crew members to give evidence if the matter goes before a judge.

Nicollette Sheridan Sues Desperate Housewives for $20 Million

An ABC source tells the Britain's Sunday Express, "Our legal team is working to get both sides together to see if they can help broker a compromise. This doesn't mean that anyone is going to hand Nicollette $20 million to drop her action and walk away but there are various incentives that might be put on the table."

As you recall, Nicollette claims Marc slapped her during an argument about a scene while she was still on the show, then fired her when she complained about his behavior.

Desperate Housewives Women Side With Creator

Nicollette's former co-workers Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross have released a joint statement expressing their support for Marc Cherry--not Nicollette.

Do you guys think Nicollette's case is a load of crap and she's just upset about being let go from the case? Or would Marc Cherry really risk his job by slapping her? Tell us your thoughts!

The stars of Desperate Housewives have taken a side. Stars Eva Longoria, Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman have banded together in agreement that they support the show's creator Marc Cherry.

Last week, Nicollette Sheridan filed a $20 million lawsuit against Cherry claiming he'd hit her in the face and killed off her character after she complained about him. Sheridan's former co-stars have kept quiet about whose side they're on--until now.

The statement reads: "It would be irresponsible of us to let the public believe that being a part of this show from its inception has been anything but a blessing. We have no first-hand knowledge of what Nicollette may or may not have experienced, but we would never characterize our set as a hostile environment.

Desperate Housewives Castmates Support Nicollette Sheridan

"It is, in fact, the opposite. The friendships and support that Marc Cherry, the cast, the crew and the producers have shared for the past six years have made this a wonderful job that we are grateful for every day."

The statement also addresses Sheridan's mention of Teri Hatcher in her lawsuit "unfortunate and inappropriate." The suit alleged that when Hatcher went over Cherry's head to complain about him to ABC executives, he told Sheridan, "I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies."

Hatcher responded today saying: "While my adoration and respect for the classic and dynamic chemistry of the characters of Susan and Edie is indelible, I'm honored to stand with Eva, Felicity and Marcia, as a group and clarify that our set environment is nothing less than an amazingly positive experience. I have never felt discriminated against. In fact, I have felt heard and respected by Marc and other executives in regards to both my professional and personal needs."

Nicollette Sheridan Fires Back About Lawsuit

Wow, this pretty much makes Nicollette look like a crazy woman now. Even if one of the women stood by her, we'd have more reason to believe her story. But now that all the women have decided to stand by Cherry's side, it makes it a lot less likely.

Do you think the women are just doing this to save their jobs, or you think they're telling the truth?
Everyone’s been left shocked at Nicollette Sheridan’s sudden lawsuit against Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry. And while her co-stars on the show are staying mum on the subject, we hear they support Nicolette’s decision.

Sources tell the NY Daily News that all the women on the show have had their issued with Cherry, but don’t want to risk telling their stories for fear of losing their jobs. "Marc can sometimes think he's being funny, but he really just comes off as arrogant and rude," says the insider. "But the women mostly put up with it. He's considered a genius at what he does, and it kind of just comes with the territory."

Moreover, insiders say Teri Hatcher has dealt with the same issues as Nicollette. "Sometimes Teri doesn't appreciate Marc's 'humor,'" says the source. "But that doesn't mean she's going to get involved with this mess anytime soon."

Eva Longoria was on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning, and called the lawsuit “a really big deal.” She wouldn’t take sides, but called Sheridan “a really sweet girl.” But she also said that Marc wouldn't harm a fly.

The insider says the women aren’t likely to come forward, unless they were summoned to court. "They're all silently behind her, but the actresses on the show enjoy the fame and success that Marc has created for them," says the insider. "It's unlikely that anyone will step forward to support Nicollette - their characters are all still alive on the show, and they have a lot more to lose than she does."

We think Nicollette will definitely get paid off, so that this doesn’t go to court. She’ll probably receive the same amount of money she would have made had she stayed on the show for two more seasons!
Nicollette Sheridan has released a statement regarding her lawsuit against Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry and ABC. In the statement, she says she didn’t want to have to do this, but felt compelled to after Cherry’s behavior towards her.

She says in a statement obtained by the Hollywood Reporter, "Nicollette worked very hard on the show and was a model employee. Mr. Cherry's behavior towards Nicollette was and is nothing short of abusive and appalling.

The lawsuit is not something Nicollette wanted to do, it's something she felt compelled to do. Nicollette asked ABC for help and protection from Mr. Cherry's abusive behavior, and ultimately, ABC was not willing or able to provide that protection.

Sometimes the only way that a safe and normal work environment can be created is when a hard-working person like Nicollette stands up for herself and her rights, and in doing so help protect others who have had to work in a hostile environment.

We expect the case to be hard fought, and it will not be a surprise if ABC and Mr. Cherry try to depict Nicollette to be something other than a team player and long-standing industry professional.

She put her heart and soul into the role of the Edie character, a character that she truly enjoyed playing."

Now we’re just awaiting a statement from Cherry! These claims are so crazy we don’t know who to believe!
Nicollette Sheridan surprised everyone when she abruptly left Desperate Housewives. Everyone knew there was some sort of falling out but now we have learned exactly what the falling out was. Sheridan filed a lawsuit alleging that the show's creator Marc Cherry hit her in the face while on set and then fired her as a retaliation after she filed a complaint against him.

The lawsuit she filed yesterday in court is for $20 million claiming assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination.

So what happened?

After Cherry allegedly hit her on set, Sheridan yelled back "You just hit me in the head. That is not okay. THAT IS NOT OKAY!" according to the lawsuit.

Cherry then went to her trailer to "beg forgiveness," the lawsuit says, but Sheridan decided that she would still report him to ABC. Once she did that Cherry's behavior allegedly worsened. It got so bad that she got killed off the show.

Nicollette Sheridan To Be Killed Off Desperate Housewives

"The decision to kill off Sheridan's character demonstrates that Cherry and ABC intended to and did retaliate against Sheridan for her complaints about Cherry," the lawsuit says.

So what's ABC saying about the lawsuit? ABC Studios says in a statement: "While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit." Stay tuned! This might get ugly...
Former 'Desperate Housewife' actress Nicollette Sheridan had to be rushed to the hospital after a horse riding accident.

Nicollette wasn't wearing a riding helmet and was "bucked off" her horse so had to get emergency medical treatment.

According to National Enquirer writer Mike Walker: “Nicolette galloped bareback near her San Fernando Valley estate in pouring rain – and suddenly got bucked off by her not-so-gallant steed, slamming head-first into the top rail of a fence. Instantly knocked silly because she wasn’t wearing a riding helmet… and barely able to move as she lay in thick mud about 100 feet from her stable.”

Luckily Nicollette's boyfriend, businessman Steve Pate, found her and rushed her to the hospital.

The magazine added added: “Steve was shocked to discover Nicollette bleeding from a nasty head wound. Picking her up, he ran to his car and rushed her to hospital. After tests for possible internal injuries, docs stapled up the gash and sent Nicolette home.”

Fortunately, she's back at home recovering now and didn't face any serious injuries. Who rides without a helmet? Come on Nicollette, you know better than that!

Viewers were left in the dark when news broke that Nicolette Sheridan would be killed off Desperate Housewives.

Speaking to TV Guide, Nicolette Sheridan opens up on her departure from a show she’s been on for five seasons.

“I said, ‘OK, sayonara. It’s been a great ride. Thank you,’” Sheridan tells TV Guide.

“[Killing off Edie] was a risky decision that could have devastating ramifications,” she adds.

She also thinks that creator of the show, Marc Cherry, often ignored her. She says, “When you have a jewel, why not polish it and put it out there for all to see?”

So why did Nicolette get the boot from the show?

Well, it might be something so simple as budget cuts. Marc Cherry says, “Edie’s already slept with most of the guys on the street and has caused about as many problems as she could.”

Also, “There has been tremendous pressure put on me to cut costs…the network is saying to all the shows, ‘the company is really hurting financially. You must find a way to produce these shows more cheaply.”

Can we expect anything new from the show now that Nicolette has gotten the boot? “We will find a new kind of sexiness coming through Wisteria Lane. What I won’t do is cast another forty something sexy blonde,” Cherry says.

Guess we gotta stay tuned to see if there is gonna be any more excitement on the show.

If someone as gorgeous and successful as Nicollette Sheridan is having a hard time finding a man, what hope is there for all other women?

Nicollette admits she's lonely and is looking for a new boyfriend, but only one that will treat her like royalty.

She said: "I'm always looking for a man. But please, only princes should talk to me."

Nicollette also insists she's nothing like her man-eater character Edie Britt on 'Desperate Housewives'. She added to People magazine: "I'm totally different from her, and besides, she'll die next season anyway."

Nicollette has certainly had her fair share of men. She broke off her engagement with Michael Bolton last year and attended the Vienna Opera Ball with Austrian businessman Richard Lugner, 76. She was also recently linked to David Spade. Why, we don't know.

If you know a good man for Nicollette, you'll be saving her (and her co-stars) a lot of time. A friend of hers added, "They are all desperately going through their phone books because they all want to win the prize!"

Sounds like a perfect way to set up a possible return. We can already see the 'Edie Comes Back from the Dead' episode brewing in their minds.

Meanwhile, her co-star Eva Longoria talked to Extra about how disappointed she is about Nicollette leaving the show.

"I love her so much as a person, and I love the character of Edie Britt, that I can't imagine the show without her," Eva Longoria Parker told Extra Thursday, the day after Sheridan's departure was confirmed.

Will you be sad to see her go? Who do you think they should replace her with?
