Simon Cowell must be softening up. Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger, and host Steve Jones have all been dropped from the 'X-Factor' after only the first season, and Simon is admitting that his bragging might have gotten this show to the point it's at.

"It's only because I opened my big mouth and said we were going to get 20 million [viewers]. If I hadn't said that, everybody would be saying the show was a huge success."

You, Simon? A big mouth? Get out.
Now that Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and host Steve Jones have all been fired from The X Factor it has sent tongues wagging over who will replace them on the singing show. The replacements have to be music A-List, I mean, there’s a reason Paula, Nicole and Steve were fired, you guys.

Rumor has it that Mariah Carey, Katy Perry and even Nicki Minaj are in talks to join the judging panel of the X Factor.
Don't MISS out on Breaking News!
This morning we reported that Steve Jones had been fired as host from The X Factor, now we’re finding out that Simon Cowell is firing everyone left and right, cutting both Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul!

With Abdul and Scherzinger gone all we’ve got left is Simon and LA Reid, aka just a couple of suits talking about which singer was or wasn’t “pitchy”. I liked it better with Abdul and Scherzinger because every week was a giant cry-fest and xanax party.
If you are wondering to yourself, Who is Steve Jones? This is exactly why he isn’t hosting the show anymore.

After speculation and rumors that the host of the The X Factor was getting axed, it’s finally true.

On his twitter page he writes, “I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame but I cant complain as I’ve had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show.”

There was just something about Steve Jones that wasn’t Ryan Seacrest-y enough
The best part about maybe getting fired from The X Factor, is that you can ask out a former Pussycat Doll. It was reported that host Steve Jones was getting fired from the X-Factor, and then reports said that no decision had been made about next season either way.

However, The X Factor host (who crowned winner Melanie Amaro last night) says if he does get axed from the show, he’ll use it as an opportunity to ask out judge Nicole Scherzinger.
Man, people are really upset about this Rachel Crowe thing.

While X-Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger was traveling in Mexico, the singer was held at gunpoint by a local gang. Scherzinger was there shooting a video for Try with Me, and she and her crew decided to drive their SUV through a bunch of rural mountains.

Why not take a segway tour in the jungles of Colombia while you're at it?

"We were held at gunpoint," X-Factor choreographer told Star magazine.
“I don’t—uh--I—um--the one--uh…” Nicole Scherzinger is still getting criticized over her judging duties on last week’s episode of The X-Factor. As it turns out, it was Paula’s idea to put the elimination in deadlock.

As previously reported, the elimination was between Rachel Crow and Marcus Canty. Two of the judges wanted Marcus gone, and only one wanted Rachel gone. It was up to Nicole to decide. She didn’t want to have to send Marcus home because that’s mean, so instead of vote for Rachel, she left it up to America to decide--Deadlock. America shockingly chose Rachel, and that’s when the crap hit the fan.

Paula’s mic was down when Nicole was making the decision, but if you turn the volume up, you can hear Paula Abdul whisper, “Just let it go to a deadlock.”

And if you turn it up even louder, you can hear Paula whisper: “Do you know if the one on the right is single?”
WATCH THE VIDEO AFTER THE JUMP!
Poor Nicole Scherzinger got booted off of Thursday night’s episode of X-Factor…wait, what?! She’s a judge? She wasn’t the one competing? Oh, lord.

On last night’s episode of the X-Factor, 13 year-old Rachel Crow was put in the bottom two. It was between her and Marcus Canty, and rather than act as a tiebreaker and choose Rachel, Nicole chose to let Marcus be eliminated with some dignity, refusing to make a decision. So then it was up to the audience votes to determine a winner. But to everyone’s surprise, the audience chose Rachel to be eliminated.

Fellow judge Simon Cowell explained:

“[Nicole] was trying to do was let Marcus go with some dignity because she was attached to both of them. But there’s no question about it, if she thought Rachel would have been out she would have gone the other way.”

Holy crap! Wow. I can’t believe this...wait, who is Lewis Hamilton?

X-Factor’s Nicole Scherzinger and her 26 year-old racecar driver boyfriend have reportedly broken up after dating for four years. “Unworkable schedules" are reportedly the cause.

Four years is a long time. I find it hard to believe that up until now, they’ve had the exact same schedule. After investing that much time in a relationship, you don’t just say:

“I’m not available on Wednesdays anymore."

“Oooh. Sorry, babe. That’s a deal breaker.”

Also, they kind of broke up for the same reason a year ago. Back in January of 2010, Nicole and Lewis reportedly split “to focus fully on their careers.”
Which means several seasons from now, they'll be creepily kiss each other on the red carpet.

Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole replacement, Nicole Scherzinger, have been bickering on the judges’ panel. I'm sure it’s just staged passive-aggressive awkwardness with the attempt to keep ratings high, but it's entertaining nonetheless.

20 year-old Ivana Steelman got onstage and belted out "Big Spender" in a cheesy, trying-too-hard to be sexy way. Simon called her out on it, saying, "You remind me of Nicole. I think this is exactly what I would have seen with Nicole if she'd have been 20, auditioning for this show for the first time."
