Nicole Richie Will Go To Jail

Nicole Richie arrived at the Glendale court house this morning wearing a black dress and with Joel Madden by her side.

Nicole plead guilty and it looks like she will spend some time in the slammer.

The Judge sentenced her to 96 hours(4 days) in jail but she already got credit for 6 hours because when she first got arrested she spent 6 hours in jail.

She was also fined $2,048 and she will go to school for 21 days for an alcohol education course.

She must report to serve her time by September 28.

The Judge also said that she was very lucky she didn't hurt anyone driving on the wrong side of the freeway.

So was her sentence fair or did she deserve more time?

i think its a reasonable sentence dont get me wrong i love nicole richie but she has to face up to what she has done no matter who she is.. i think she has grown up alot to since then so i think she will come out of this just fine

I think it's fair. That is the charge I was supposed to get for a hit and run (that I don't remember) but was never charged with a DUI or anything it was not provable even if I was. She didn't hit anything, so I duno, maybe just 48 hours would have been suitable. I was given 48 hours (had 4 days but the 2 charges were similar so judge chopped it in half). Good luck to her. I don't like her, but she's not making a huge deal out of it like someone else we all know.

i gotta give her credit for approaching this matter with the right attitude. on letterman, she said she was prepared to accept a jail sentence if one was coming. that was in such contrast to the whining from the paris hilton camp.
