Nicole Richie Has a Baby Boy!

Congrats to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden who welcomed a baby boy on 09/09/09.

"In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009 Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.

"He weighs 7lbs 14oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes," read a statement on Nicole's official website.

The couple had recently said that they didn't want to know the sex of the baby until she gave birth. "We want the surprise. What is there really to plan? I'll get the clothes after," Nicole told Larry King back in May.

Sparrow James Midnight Madden joins big sister Harlow Winter Kate, who was born in January 2008.

Congrats to the couple, we're sure little Sparrow is going to be just as adorable as Harlow. What do you guys think of the name Sparrow?

I really think getting married is up to these 2.Marriage is over rated!!!! When they're ready they will take that leap. They're great people and great parents. Really what does d-list mean.

It was earlier reported that she would name the baby....regardless of sex...after her Godfather, Michael Jackson....guess they changed their minds....and YES they SHOULD get MARRIED!

Congratulations. Sparrow sounds like a great name--kinda Native American. When I was a junior in high school, I had a (unrequited) crush on our (then) church choir director, George Grace. Earlier this summer, he lost his courageous battle with leukemia and kidney failure. This would have been his 68th birthday. My birth weight was 7 lbs 14 oz, so Sparrow has George's birthday and my birth weight--there's a poem in there as well as a poem in his very name. And, yes, George has directed us when we were singing "His Eye Is On The Sparrow."

Nicole,Joel and Harlow are sooooooooo adorable. I am sure the baby is also.Nicole has done a complete turn around,a great Mom.She and Joel are very kind young people helping those that are in need.I have lots of respect for them.Good Luck with your new baby Nicole and Joel.I love the name Sparrow,I'm gonna call him "Midnight".
