Nicole Kidman has received the highest honor in her homeland of Australia. The actress was presented with Australia's top civil honor earlier today for her work on the big screen, as well as her efforts to promote women's health.
Kidman was awarded the
Companion of the Order of Australia at Government House in Canberra, the country's highest honor, which is given to citizens for their 'eminent achievement and merit of the highest degree in service to Australia or humanity at large.'
Kidman collected the award in front of her hubby Keith Urban and her parents. Nicole addressed, "It's a pat on the back, which as a little girl is something you dream of."
