Nicole Kidman Graces Cover Of Elle

Nicole Kidman on becoming a mother later in life:
“At 41, it’s a more painful love. I look at that little girl, and I’m, like, Oh, no, what’s going to happen? It’s almost like my heart is stretching; I’m feeling all these muscles stretch with emotion. It’s a beautiful love but there’s a lot of fear and pain for her life, and for Bella’s and Connor’s life. I like to believe that nothing was stopping Sunday from coming into the world.”

Anne Hathaway on her peak acting experience:
“When I wrapped Rachel Getting Married and Bill Irwin asked how I was feeling, I said, ‘Satisfied.’ That was astonishing to be able to unequivocally say, I left my guts out there on that one, and I couldn’t have done better.”

Salma Hayek on directing and producing:
“Everyone has to find their own path, but this worked for me. I survived Hollywood—not only survived it but reinvented it for myself. Nobody thought I was going to last this long!

Halle Berry on bringing characters to life:
“I’ve had a life full of great highs but also great lows. My well is deep. And my process is figuring out how to funnel my own pain, my own rage, through a character. When I can do that in a healthy way, it’s like I won the lottery.”
