Ryan Seacrest Dishes on

Earlier today we posted a video of Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey in an all out cat-fight during an “American Idol” audition in North Carolina.

Nicki was slanging F-bombs left and right and production on “Idol” had to shut down early because of it.

Of course, we only know what we see, and what we see is Nicki acting like a straight-up cray cray hood rat, but thankfully, “Idol's” golden child Ryan Seacrest shed some light on what got these two divas so heated.

“Yesterday, we did about a full day of auditions, and toward the end of the day there was a very heated, intense argument between a couple of the judges after a contestant performed,” says Seacrest on his radio show, “both of these judges have come with a different perspective.”

So “different perspective” is what they are blaming for Nicki’s outburst?

Seacrest calls the fight “intense” and “heated” and says their rivalry got out of hand.

“You know that when you put Nicki, Mariah and Keith [Urban] together, you’re going to get different opinions – which is fantastic. But yesterday, it did go too far, to the point where the producers said, ‘Let’s call it a day.’”

As for the contestant whose audition was interrupted by the b-tch fight, she was ushered quickly out of the room and given a “golden ticket” onto the next round. Pretty nice consolation price.

In related news, Nicki supposedly threatened Mariah Carey’s life! Apparently during the fight, Nicki said “Off with your head” and also “If I had a gun I would shoot her.”

What? We definitely didn’t hear that!

However, Nigel Lythgoe said, “The statement that Nicki made a death threat is absolute rubbish.”

Apparently Mariah’s people are stirring the pot, but Mariah confronted Nicki this morning and straight up asked, “did you want to kill me?” and Nicki said “No.”

This all according to TMZ. So believe what you will.

In case you missed it, here's the video again:
