What would a week in Hollywood be without a little scandal? Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo are back from their Mexican getaway and are talking to Ok! magazine about their recent racy photos. Here's what they had to say...
Nick and Vanessa on the Mexico trip, during which the couple were caught naked in a hot tub:
“Where’s the scandal? I was in Mexico with my girlfriend of a year, celebrating our anniversary on a private vacation. It’s not like I was caught with a Mexican hooker,” says Lachey. “We’ve all gone out and had a few too many and done something stupid. We’ve all made mistakes.”
Minnillo says the photos were “embarrassing. But we did nothing wrong.
: I felt personally violated. If I was being disrespectful I would expect to be punished, but I wasn’t. It’s wrong.”
Nick and Vanessa on the Lohan photos:
“When a photo like that gets more press than what you do, it’s sad,” says Minnillo. “It was a period of seconds, over a year ago. Yes, of course, it was bad judgment. Yes, of course I was embarrassed.”
Minnillo says she has not spoken with Lohan since the photos were released in June:
“I haven’t seen her recently or talked to her. She’s trying to get herself better.”
Nick and Vanessa on Lachey’s marriage to Jessica Simpson:
“It was best for both for us that it ended the way it did,” Lachey says, adding that he and Simpson have no contact. Lachey also says that his very public marriage to and divorce from Simpson has not soured him on the institution. “I still believe in it.”
Nick and Vanessa on whether they are seriously considering marriage:
“The ‘m’ word has been mischief lately,” says Lachey, dismissing rumors of a pending wedding. “We’re enjoying each other’s company and we’re very happy, but we’re not looking too far ahead. The future will be what it will be. We’ll see where it goes.”
