Nick Lachey. biography
Born Nicholas Scott Lachey on November 9, 1973, in Kentucky, Nick Lachey got his big break when he joined the boy-band 98 Degrees with Justin Jeffre, Jeff Timmons and his brother Drew. After the release of their mildly successful debut album 98 Degrees (1997), the band dropped their second album 98 Degrees and Rising (1998), which was certified 4x Platinum after selling more than 1 million copies.
Nick then shot to stardom when he married singer Jessica Simpson and the two obtained their own reality show, called Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. In 2005, the show won a People's Choice Award for Favorite Reality Show, prior to the couple filing for divorce in December 2005.
On May 9, 2006, Nick released his second solo album What's Left of Me, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200, sold over 500,000 records and was certified Gold. After Jive Records shelved Nick's third solo album, Nick announced he was leaving the label in 2010.
Aside from his music career, Nick has taken on the role of TV host on several programs, including The Sing-Off (2009-2011) and Stars Earn Stripes (2012) and has appeared in One Tree Hill (2009) and Charmed (2004-2005).
After separating from Simpson, Nick began dating Vanessa Minnillo and announced their engagement on November 4, 2010. In July 2011, the two married on Sir Richard Branson's private Necker Island in British Virgin Islands, which was later televised on TLC in July. On September 12, 2012, the couple welcomed their son Camden John Lachey.
