Nick Bollea Sent to Prison

Hulk Hogan
As we reported yesterday, Hulk Hogan's son Nick Bollea aka Nick Hogan was due in court today facing a felony charge of driving recklessly involving serious bodily injury.

Nick plead 'Not Guilty' but unfortunately for Nick, the judge disagreed and sentenced to 8 months in prison. He also got his license suspended for 3 years, got 5 years probation, 500 hours of community service and he's not allowed to drink during his probation.

Before being sentenced, Nick told the judge, "I'll never, ever be able to tell John 'sorry' enough times to make up for what happened on Aug. 26. I loved John to death. He was like my oldest brother and my best friend. I'm ready to take my punishment."

Do you think the sentence was fair?

8 months for turning his "best friend" into a vegitable? chances are he'll spend a 1/3 of that, and be out in no time. so no, it was not a fair sentence.

Hey, at least the kid stood up, took responsibility, and plead nolo instead of trying to buy/weasel his way out. I agree that it was a horrible act and a light sentence, but he IS a minor...I think, in light of his actions and attitude today, he deserves a touch of slack. Thanks!

The sentencing is not fair at all, it should have gotten 10 years plus. That whole family is pathetic.

he's a spoiled little brat who DID try to buy his way out but the judge wouldn't let him. He deserved more time & more comm. service. Betcha he is stopped for speeding w/in a year of getting out, the kid hasn't learned anything.

In all fairness, John wasn't wearing a seatbelt, so part of him being produce is his fault.

I think it is fair. I am sure John was all hot for some street racing too. I doubt he was yelling at Nick to let him out of the car and he wasn't wearing a seat belt.

it is terrible, but he wasn't wearing his seatbelt, he was a grown man who met nick at a car meet, so he obviously loved cars as much as nick. i know it's upsetting for the family, but there is a chance it could have been the other way around, you can't tell me he has never driven one of these fast cars over the speed limit. it was a terrible accident that no one should have to face, but pointing the blame at nick, then sueing his parents after they are already paying all the medical bills is a bit much. i hope he gets better real quick

"Taking responsibility" means pleading GUILTY, not no contest. Nick Hogan did not take responsibility, and this light sentence doesn't send the strong message that needs to be sent to other street-racing punks.

Do you realize that it wasn't exactly all Nicks fault? Maybe John was drunk. Maybe John wanted to race just as bad. And fact, Nick must not have been that drunk cause at least he was sober enough to wear his seatbelt. It was an accident. He's a kid, kids do things like race. A lot of my friends do it. Its normal. He said he was sorry, he said he was going to change and do things to help his best friend that he called a brother. He has to go 3 years without his license and 500 hours of community service, plus being in jail for 8 months. Give him a break. The next time you all do something stupid make sure you remember to man up and admit to whatever it was that you did and take all the jail time you can!

Donald, "everybody does it" is at least as much a reason for prosecution as for not prosecuting. Fewer kids would "do things like" street racing if they knew there were serious consequences. Whether Nick's passenger was drunk or wearing a seatbelt doesn't excuse Nick for his criminal behavior. Street racing is a dangerous crime, and we must send a message that it *is* a big deal. And you could say the incident *is* all Nick's fault, because he did something he absolutely didn't have to do, for thrills.

Unfortunately we don't get to hear John's side of the story but I bet he wasn't trying to get Nick to slow down either. "If it was a criminal act then John should be arrested for aiding and abetting and being an accessory when he gets out of a coma." Now I think thats a horrible comment but the way you put your explanations, you feel like that wouldn't be a bad thing. Kids do stupid things all the time and get a slap on the wrist, not just celebs and I understand that. I have been arrested many times for stupid acts but to say that he should be punished to the max is dumb. Your most likely basing it off of the rumor that he was drunk. His BAC was .02, thats one shot. If a person in my hometown would have done this same thing, they would have gotten a fine and maybe probation and community service. Now I don't know what town you come from or even what your childhood was like but most kids I know don't give a crap about consequences, especially when their doing things like underage drinking and getting high.
