Prescription Drugs Suspected In Death of Nick Carter's Sister Leslie

Leslie Carter passed away yesterday at the young age of 25, and now reports are surfacing that the singer and sister of Nick and Aaron Carter suffered from an addiction to prescription medication.

Leslie was living in Canada with her husband and child. But sources close to the reality star told TMZ that Leslie recently moved from Canada to Upstate New York to live with family members while she tried to kick her addiction.

Carter's family members reportedly attempted to get rid of all prescription medication in the home, including Xanax. They were hopeful that Leslie was recovering.

The family left Leslie alone for an hour while they ran errands yesterday. But when they returned, they found her unconscious. Officials were then called to the home, but unfortunately, they could not revive her.

Her daughter was not home at the time of her death.

Meanwhile, Leslie's brother, Nick Carter, is continuing on with his tour, dedicating it to his sister.

"Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform."

Aaron Carter, on the other hand, is expected to take some time off from his off-Broadway show, The Fantasticks.

The Carter family issued the following statement yesterday:

"Our family is grieving right now and it's a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter. We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time."
