Whitney Cummings is Cumming to E! (Ahh, gross. Get it? GET IT?!) for a new, weekly talk show - “Love You, Mean It With Whitney Cummings.”
Apparently people really like her NBC series “Whitney” and just can’t get enough of the stand-up comedienne, so much that she needs her own talk show too! I’d like to meet these people, and then punch them.
The show will be “guided by Cummings signature humor, and will be a weekly medley of witty commentary featuring Whitney’s take on everything from the biggest pop culture and celebrity happenings, to life, relationships, sex, and more. Equipped with only a microphone and her laptop” says a statement from E!
Wait, what? You had me, and then lost me at “equipped with only a microphone and her laptop.” What is this show? A YouTube vlog broadcast from her basement? She doesn’t even get a big interview couch?
“This show gives me a chance to get back to my stand-up roots,” says Cummings, “And I’m really excited to be able to say (almost) whatever I’d like on TV again. So thanks, E!”
Cummings career took off when she appeared on the round table of the E! show, “Chelsea Lately.” She then went on to create and star in NBC’s “Whitney” and is co-creator of CBS sitcom “Two Broke Girls.”
“Bringing audiences even more distinctive comedic voices and clever humor is an important part of our programming strategy and brand evolution,” says President of Entertainment Programming on E!
The show is set to be paired with E!'s popular series "The Soup" and will make its debut on Wednesday nights later this year.
