'White Collar' Star Matt Bomer: I'm Gay

Actor Matt Bomer, star of the TV series “White Collar” who is also appearing as a stripper opposite Channing Tatum in upcoming flick “Magic Mike,” has come out as gay man.

I knew no straight man could have such well-manicured eyebrows as Matt Bomer.

After dodging questions about his sexual orientation for years, the 34-year-old actor basically came out of the closet at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards.

When he picked up his award for the New Generation Arts and Activism award his speech was, “I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry. Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment.”

Ahhh so sweet. So when that happened, Matt Bomer fans went internet nuts, meaning they had to track down who this “Simon” character is that Matt thanked in his speech.

Matt's partner “Simon” is Simon Halls, a publicist who represents Neil Patrick Harris and Glee creator Ryan Murphy.

Back in January 2010, Details magazine asked Bomer about his sexual orientation, namely that fans had been wondering if he was gay.

“I don't care about that at all. I'm completely happy and fulfilled in my personal life,” says Bomer.

He added that he could never “trust” the “business” to embrace his orientation, especially since he's the lead in a big network show like “White Collar.”

“I would say a big difference between my character and me is that I can be to trusting. And I've realized in this business, that's not necessarily the smartest thing to be,” says Bomer.

Neil Patrick Harris got more popular after he came out, I mean, look how many awards shows he's hosted! Look how many years “How I Met Your Mother” has been on TV! #justsayin

Bomer will next appear opposite Mark Ruffalo and Alec Baldwin in the HIV/AIDS drama “The Normal Heart.” As I mentioned before, he will also star opposite Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer in the male stripper movie, “Magic Mike.”

It's perfect timing for him to come out, with a male-stripper movie in the pipeline, Matt Bomer knows who his fan base is, let's be real.
