The Emmys is a night of glitz, glamour, television's brightest stars…and some dude named Shemar Moore.
Because neither Christina Milian nor anyone from “Glee” was available, an actor named Shemar Moore was hired to act as the “social media” correspondent for the Emmys telecast and he inadvertently became the night’s biggest star.
We don’t know if it was his tireless perspiration, his deer-in-the-headlights stare, the fact that he looked like he was about to sh*t his pants the whole show, or how he started his segments with “well, it’s me again,” but this little-known actor accidentally became the breakout star of the night.
The Internet tells us that Shemar has been on 186 episodes of “Criminal Minds,” but we have a hard time believing that Shemar has ever been in front of a camera or read words in any sort of sequence out loud.
Right now, #ShemarMoore is trending higher than #Emmys.
Here’s a sampling of what Twitter thinks of Shemar Moore’s hosting skills:
“I’ve seen hostages that look less terrified than Shemar Moore,” said @AaronFullerton.
“This Shemar Moore guy is super lifelike. Well done, engineers,” said @DanRubenstein.
“What an honor for Bob Newhart to be standing silently next to Shemar Moore,” said @BillyEichner.
