Remember t.A.T.u.? They’re Opening the Sochi Olympics

Everyone’s favorite Russian girl duo who crafted their image around a pseudo-lesbian relationship, t.A.T.u., is opening everyone’s favorite Russian orgy of homophobia, the 2014 Winter Olympics.

For those with insanely strict parents in middle school, this is t.A.T.u.

They had a song called “All The Things She Said,” which became a rare hit for a Russian music group outside Russia.

The song’s lyrics and visuals were titillating because of its depiction of homosexuality and bisexuality.

They disappeared from the international scene for more than a decade…AND NOW THEY’RE BACK.

Adding to the controversy, they’re reportedly going to perform during the opening ceremony at Sochi, which has come under global criticism for its anti-gay legislation.

Who knows what they’ll bring to the world stage, but their unforgettable performance at the 2003 VMAs is a possible indication.

Until it airs on February 7th, NEVER FORGET: t.A.T.u.
