A tragic report from the world of realty television…
Joey Kovar of “Real World: Hollywood” was found dead in his Chicago area home Friday morning. Though no official cause of death has been announced, it has been reported that those closest to the reality star say that drugs are to blame.
TMZ broke the news…
According to the source, Kovar’s body was found by a female friend earlier today. She noticed blood coming out of his nose and ears and immediately called 911.
An emergency team reported to the scene, but authorities pronounced Kovar dead upon arrival.
Kovar was 29 years old. He had been battling drug issues for some time.
In 2008, during filming for “Real World: Hollywood,” his partying became so out of control that he had to leave halfway through the season to admit himself into a rehabilitation program for drugs and alcohol. At that time it was learned that the troubled soul had been abusing both ecstasy and cocaine.
In addition to MTV’s reality series, Kovar appeared in the 2009 season of VH1’s “Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew” where he sought help for his drug use.
It also has been reported that Joey had used steroids in the past as part of his bodybuilding regiment.
According to the International Business Times, Kovar been working as a personal trainer and aspiring actor in Chicago.
Actress Mackenzie Phillips, who appeared alongside Joey on "Celebrity Rehab," has since tweeted her sympathies for his passing.
