Academy Awards-winning actress and star of the fan beloved yet cancelled show “Harry’s Law” has just announced on her Twitter page that she has cancer for the second time.
64-year-old actress Kathy Bates survived ovarian cancer nine years ago and has been recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
Thanks to twitter we don’t even need a confirmation from the actress. She spilled all the details in these tweets.
(1/2) Hey All, sorry for the long silence. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago & am recovering from a double mastectomy.— Kathy Bates (@MsKathyBates) September 12, 2012
(2/2) I don't miss my breasts as much as I miss Harry's Law. ;-) Thanks for all the sweet tweets. Y’all kept me going.— Kathy Bates (@MsKathyBates) September 12, 2012
This was the first tweet she’s posted since May 28, 2012.
Kathy is resting up after her double mastectomy and tells Hollyscoop, “My family calls me Kat because I always land on my feet and thankfully this is no exception. My doctors have assured me I’m going to be around for a long time. I’m looking forward to getting back to work doing what I love to do.”
Kathy has something to look forward to: She’s nominated for two Emmys, one for outstanding actress in a drama for “Harry’s Law” and outstanding guest actress in a comedy for “Two and a Half Men.”
