Live Earth last year was such an enormous success that another one is taking place this year. Live Earth founder Kevin Wall has announced that it will take place in Mumbai, India on December 7th. He told the press, "If you're alive in India, somewhere, somehow, you can see or hear or become part of this event."
The list of performers has not yet been announced, but we're sure as soon as the word is out, musical artists will be begging to get involved. The show will be broadcast live in over 100 countries with the hope that the money raised will go towards people who don't have access to electricity by providing solar power to them.India To Host Live Earth This Year
Al Gore, who co-founded Live Earth with Wall, spoke via satellite from the US, informed viewers that India was chosen because it's "the world's largest democracy, one of the oldest and greatest civilizations, but also because of its emerging economic clout on the global stage. Because of all those factors, it is poised to play a tremendous leadership role as we begin the 21st century."
