“Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” the latest phenomenon to plague cable airwaves, continues its reign of television ratings. The latest installment in the reality series brings the child pageant star’s family to a Bingo game, where her mom debuts her “Bingo Face.”
Squinted eyes, crinkled nose, yellowed teeth… It’s all a little much to take in over your morning coffee.
June Shannon – a.k.a. “Mama” – unveiled the look, sitting in a sparse Bingo parlor, while attempting to teach her daughter, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, the game.
In an on-camera interview, the matriarch powerhouse explained the tradition of Bingo, which – from her interpretation – seems to be the official pastime of the land of the redneck…
"Bingo and couponing are my all-time favorite sport. But playing Bingo I have to be more intense because my eyesight isn't that good," Julia says, describing the Bingo look. "I have to squint a lot."
Any earnings that she wins from the “sport” are often donated to Boo Boo’s career.
"I'm looking to win the big jackpot at the end," she says in the episode. "$1000 for the pageant next week."
Honey Boo Boo’s hit show is a spin-off of the TLC original series “Toddlers in Tiaras.”
The spin-off has been so successful, in fact, that the family is seeking a pay bump from $4,000 to $10,000 for Season 2.
The highly anticipated, one-hour season finale of the first season of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” broadcasts on Wednesday, September 26 on TLC.
