SAG and Producers Reach a Deal

The fight looks like it’s finally over between SAG and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. They’ve reached a tentative deal for a new labor contract, which will hopefully prevent the strike from happening.

The dispute had been over how much actors would be compensated for new-media sales. Details haven’t been revealed as of yet, but it also had to do with the fact that producers were pushing for a three-year contract for commercial work, while SAG wanted it...

Stephanie Meyer, the writer behind the wildly successful Twilight book, is being sued by a former friend for plagiarism--and production on the follow up, New Moon has been halted as a result.

Heidi Stanton, who studied alongside Meyer at Brigham Young University in Utah claims Meyers stole the vampire story from her because it's very similar to a short story she wrote while they were attending college together.

Natasha Richardson has died after suffering a head injury from a skiing accident. She was 45.

Richardson, a well respected actress and member of the famed Redgrave family, fell while skiing on the beginners trail on Monday at the Mont Tremblant ski resort near Montreal.

According to the ski patrol, she fell and tumbled down the slope, but she did not strike a tree or another person.

Actress Natasha Richardson was hospitalized on Monday afternoon in Montréal after suffering a serious head injury during a skiing accident.

Richardson was skiing at Mont Tremblant ski resort in Quebec, Canada when the accident happened. According to the ski patrol, she fell and tumbled down the slope, but she did not strike a tree or another person.

She was immediately taken to Centre Hospitalier Laurentien but then transferred to Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal, reports People.
